Open top car

Frank and Belinda organised an open top car tour of the city today, the car is a Model T Ford replica.  Got picked up and did the city tour, learnt lots from a very informative guide/driver.  Went and had a look at the Lennon Wall - this was a wall painted (after Lennon died) as a peace protest against the Communist regime.  It was painted over in white paint about 3 years ago and within two days the graffiti was back again.  Just around the corner was the John Lennon Hotel and Pub.  Between the two was the 'Love Bridge' which was a celebration of the possibility of what would happen if love ruled?  There was a little restaurant on the canal, beautiful spot to have a feed.  We went around the castle and cathedral but will be back there to have a decent look through them both.
Headed back to town through the Jewish Quarter to the Powder Tower (where they used to store gunpowder for the citys' army) and walked back towards home, stopped for lunch at a little restaurant near home, Frank kept buying beer so I had to stay and keep him company.  The girls went home to prepare tea.....maybe.....

Ready to go

Lennon Wall

Almost lost Vernon against the wall.

Beatles sign made out of beetles - you can see it in the previous photo about Vernons head.

That's a pub

Lots of love on the love bridge

No time for lunch yet - restaurant on the right, gnome in the middle, water wheel on the left..

Charles Bridge from the north
