Back to Prague today, the last day of our road trips. Only about 4hrs drive but in true Holcombe
spirit we went the long way. Looked
around where we would be heading and found a tree top walk which could be
interesting. Ended up on a gravel road
near the German border, through farmer Josefs’ paddocks, past the stables,
nearly ran over his cat before we finally arrived. We had 19.30 euro cash left, the entry fee
was 19 euro, we were in luck.
Fascinating walk high up in the canopy of the pine forest with a few
challenges on the way. Got to the café
where there is accommodation on stilts and a huge playground, looks like school
camp heaven. It was past lunch and with
luck they took eftpos so we could buy lunch on the card, the only draw back was
a minimum 25 euro. We ordered lunch, a
coke, 2 bottles of water, still not up to the limit, had to order a red wine
and a white wine spritzer, finally made the 25 euro limit, but we had a huge
lunch and lots to drink!! Managed most
of it then on the road again, along some narrow roads being held up by
tractors, finally made it to a real road (I’m going to have to recalibrate our
SatNav so she follows some real roads).
Made it to Prague at 5.30, great to see the Frank, Belinda
and the boys again. Being able to truly
relax again was a relief. Slow day
planned tomorrow, then off to Cesky Krumlov on Sunday.

I think I can now comment because I have set our blog up ready for our trip, looking forward to catching up when you are back , please have that sat Nav calibrated before you return! I know you will want to lend it to us and not want us to get lost! Trip looks amazing and makes me slightly anxious as I really want to see some of what you will be seeing but am afraid of missing out! So much to see! Lots of love Trish
ReplyDeleteI'm sure we could spend years here and still miss out on seeing something! Just have to do as much as our little legs will cope with. I'll make sure the SatNav is up to your standards by the time we get back. Love Pam and Vernon
