Salzburg

Leaving Innsbruck for Salzburg today, wanted to call in and walk a gorge, bad luck, a rockfall has closed the walk for the rest of the 2017 season.  Onward to Salzburg.  Drove through a picturesque valley, so green and lush, all the houses are typical Austrian houses with timber cladding, peaked roofs and lots of window boxes full of flowers.  Everyplace was in tiptop condition, lots of house proud people along this valley.  Through towering mountain ranges, true Austrian style driving today, loved it all.
Arrived in Salzburg about 2.30, checked in and went into the town.  Wandered around till we organised ourselves and went up the funicular to the castle, the funicular got us to the ground floor of the castle, we still had to climb steps up to the tower, well worth the walk, beautiful panorama of Salzburg.
Back down to the old town, through the Cathedral and walked the streets till we were exhausted.  Lots of open city squares, lots of narrow lanes, lots of cobble stones.  Finally called it a day and had a quiet drink before heading home at about 6.30.  Light tea and it will be off to bed.
A week today till we get back on a plane!!!

For all you doubters out there - YOU BEAUTY QUEENSLAND!!!!!!
